How do you find the pH of a buffer?

Use the Henderson Hasselbach equation: pH = pKa + log [base]/[acid]

At the stoichiometric point, the concentration of the weak acid and conjugate base are equal. So pH = pKa + log [1] simplifies to pH = pKa. This is how we are able to use this equation to find the pH at the halfway point.
