This Chem 14B material. That is why this topic is marked *.

1. Write the balanced chemical equation for the reaction. Then calculate the initial numbers of moles.

2. Determine which species, if either, is present in excess.

3. Tabulate the results showing initial numbers, changes, and final numbers of moles.

4. Write the equation for the reaction.

5. Use a tabular format to obtain the concentrations of all the species present.

6. Use the concentrations calculated to find Kb, and use the relationship Kw = Ka Kb to calculate the pH of the solution.

When you say "This Chem 14B material", do you mean it IS chem14b material or isn't? and will it be on the midterm?
