Heat is the transfer of energy due to a temperature difference. Enthalpy is the change in amount of heat in a system at constant pressure. You can use heat and enthalpy interchangeably if there is no work being done to the system.

Hi! Enthalpy is the total amount of heat in a system while heat is the energy that moves in and out of systems. The change in enthalpy is the measure of the amount of heat moving in and out of the system.

In layman's terms, change in enthalpy is the heat gained/lost by the system. This statement relates heat to enthalpy, but one way I like to think about these two terms is that enthalpy looks at changes at a broader level. Enthalpy is change in a system, whereas the movement of heat is what causes these changes.

Enthalpy is the measure of the total heat moving in and out of the system whereas heat is energy that transfers to or from a thermodynamic system.

Enthalpy is the study of heat released and absorbed in chemical reactions or physical changes. Therefore, enthalpy relates to heat because a positive enthalpy represents the input of energy while a negative enthalpy represents the release of energy.

Heat is usually seen as the transfer of energy whereas enthalpy denotes the transfer of thermal energy between systems!

Heat is energy that is transferred when a chemical reaction happens, but enthalpy is the final amount of heat - initial amount of heat. In other words, it is the net change in the heat.

Speaking from the perspective of calculation, Enthalpy can be calculated by dividing heat with amount of substance (mole).
