Thermochemistry vs. Thermodynamics

Postby Leah M 2C » Sat Jan 23, 2016 6:43 pm

What's the difference between thermochemistry and thermodynamics? Is thermodynamics a subset of thermochemistry?

Thermochemistry is a branch of thermodynamics.
Thermodynamics is the overall study of heat conversions (and other energy forms), while thermochemistry is specifically the study of thermodynamics in regards to chemical reactions.
