Expansion vs. Compression

Postby Sumaiyah I 1E » Sun Jan 24, 2016 11:44 pm

When does a system undergo expansion and when does it undergo compression? And why does this happen?

Expansion is an increase in volume due to the difference in pressure (outside pressure is lower). Compression is a decrease in volume due to the lower internal pressure.
