How can I identify a cathode and a node?

The anode is the electrode where electricity moves into. The cathode is the electrode where electricity is given out or flows out.

Hello,
The cathode is the electrode that undergoes reduction (gaining electrons). The anode is the electrode that oxidizes (loses electrons). I remember it with the abbreviation "AN OX" (Anode Oxidation) to remind me that oxidation happens at the anode.

Cathodes will most likely be on the right of a galvanic cell, and can be identified with redox reactions since they are where electrons are being pulled to

The cathode acts as the electron acceptor and is where reduction half-reactions take place in a cell. The anode is the electron donor and is where oxidation half-reactions occur.

think about it as cathode is electron accepter and anode is a donor

You can identify a cathode vs anode but seeing if there is acceptance or donors of electrons. Cathode accepts the electrons and anode donates the electrons.
