Delta G
Hi, I remember in one of the lectures it was mentioned that delta G is not measured directly, but why is that?

Re: Delta G
I think he said it was very difficult to measure because when we calculate it, it's the maximum free energy available to do work, and in reality/experiments, all of that work isn't generally done. Also, Gibbs Free Energy is measured through a combination of enthalpy and work, not an isolated value, so I don't know that there's an experimental procedure to measure energy released/absorbed without those values.

Re: Delta G
Because there are so many factors that go into the measurement of G, it's often not measured experimentally because it's too difficult. Instead we use things that are easier to measure, like H, S, and K, to calculate G.
Re: Delta G
In addition to the above points, measuring delta G would create the need of meausring both delta h and delta s simultaneously and accurately which is difficult to do in lab settings
