4C.13-- specific heat capacity of water

For textbook question 4C.13, we are asked to find final temperature of a system when ice is combined with liquid water. Why is it that when calculating q_ice, we use the specific heat capacity for liquid water rather than the specific heat capacity for ice?

This is because it is at 0 degrees C and increasing in temperature, so we use the heat capacity of water.
I believe that if it was decreasing in temperature, we would've use the heat capacity of ice.
