HW 8.77

Could someone please explain how to do the following problem:
Benzene is more stable and less reactive than would be predicted from its Kekule structures. Use the mean bond enthalpies in table 8.7 to calculate the lowering in molar energy when resonance is allowed between the Kekule structures of benzene.

Without seeing the table itself, I would assume they mean calculate the total bond energy using three C-C bonds + three C=C bonds. Then compare this to the total bond energy calculated using six C_---C bonds (no symbol for it, the bond enthalpy equivalent to 1.5 C-C bonds).
