Given quantities

Postby Mannat Sukhija 1E » Tue Jan 31, 2017 4:43 pm

I just wanted to make sure we would be given quantities like the heat of fusion or sublimation of a substance if needed on a problem. For example, if we needed to calculate the energy needed to melt a certain quantity of ice, would we be given the energy needed to melt one gram or mole of H20.

I had Dr. Lavelle's class for 14A last quarter, so I'm confident in saying any values specific to a compound/atom will be given in a problem if we need them to calculate the answer in 14B as well.

On the formula sheet, I believe we're only given those that correspond to water. But if it's for another substance, I think they should put it in the problem.
