Enthalpy as a state property

In lecture, the professor said that enthalpy is a state property. He also said that heat is not a state property. Enthalpy is the study of heat released or absorbed, so why is enthalpy a state property and heat isn't? Aren't they basically the same thing?

As represented by the solution to the integral, enthalpy is a state function because it only depends on the initial and final conditions, and not on the path taken to establish these conditions. Heat is bc the change in the internal energy of a system is equal to the sum of the heat and the work transferred between the system and its surroundings; depends on path

Enthalpy is heat under constant pressure, so while enthalpy can be described as a state function, heat cannot because in its general definition it can have changing pressures
