Work by expansion

Postby 105114680 » Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:09 pm

The work by expansion equation gives an answer in the units atm * L not J or kJ (the unit used for work). How do you convert atm * L to J?

1 l atm = 101.33 J, this is on the formula sheet

Yes, use the conversion ratio which should be given to us, either in the problem or on the formula sheet to convert.

use the conversion 1L*atm=101.33 J and use dimensional analysis to convert
