moles / mass in phase change problems

when it comes to solving phase changes, do you always use the grams given or would we have to convert it to moles every time

For phase changes, we usually solve in mols since the equation includes n(change in)Hfusion or n(change in)Hvaporization. The "n" in these equations represent number of mols.

You'll have to convert to moles I think.

You have to use mols in order to make sure the units cancel out with those of the gas constant.
