Work and State Properties

Postby JamieVu_2C » Sun Jan 26, 2020 5:33 pm

Why is work not a state property when work is force times distance? Since the path doesn't matter for a state property, why would work not be considered a state property?

Work is not a state function because it is dependent on the distance traveled by an object, thus its value would change based on the total distance traveled to get from the initial to the final state.
