in this problem, we have to use the equation E = hc/λ and calculate the number of photons needed for the rxn
will we have to know this and other quantum equations for the midterm?

Hi there,

From what I understand, we only have to know equations from Dr. Lavelle's Constants and Equations sheet: https://lavelle.chem.ucla.edu/wp-conten ... ations.pdf This will be provided in the test, so you don't have to memorize them - but you should know what they mean and how to use them. The equation you mentioned can be derived from the equations E = hν and c = λ v, which appear on the sheet. Therefore, there is some chance it could appear on the test, although it is unlikely given most of Dr. Lavelle's examples. I hope this helps!
