Equations for the Midterm

Postby 305421980 » Mon Feb 10, 2020 9:57 pm

I noticed that a few of the more specific work equations and equations to find q for different circumstances are not on the equation sheet but are used some in the homework problems. Will we need to know the ones not on the sheet as well or know how to get them using PV=nRT, etc.?

Some equations that we may need to know are not on the equation sheet. For example, it may be important to know that, if we need to solve for PΔV but we do not know the change in volume or the pressure, we could instead use ΔnRT because they are equivalent when derived from the ideal gas law.
