Combustion Equation Conceptual Question
How is water produced in a combustion reaction? I know how it's produced per the reaction equation, but what happens to it?

Hi. I think the combustion reaction requires the heat to produce CO2 and water, in which both of them are in the state of gas. So water in the combustion reaction is in gas phase.

Water is produced in a gas rather than a liquid state in a combustion due to the energy released by the reaction. It is then released as a gaseous form.

Hi! The H and the O from the reactants will form the H2O seen in the combustion reaction. The water that is produced during the combustion reaction is released as a gas and as water vapor rather than the liquid form of water. Hope this helps!

In a combustion reaction, water is produced when the Hydrogen reacts with the Oxygen to form water as a product. The water is produced as water vapor (hence why in combustion reactions that include the states the H2O is written as H2O(g)), which is released into the surroundings.
