Textbook Problem 4C.15

Postby Lynne Zhao 2B » Sat Jan 22, 2022 5:07 pm

Are the heat capacities for the compound supposed to be in kJ/mol instead of J/mol?

Most often they are expressed in the units (J/gºC) which means that the value is written in terms of Joules but can be easily converted to kilojoules using dimensional analysis or conversion after the calculations.

I believe they can be written as either depending on what the problem is asking.

Hi Lynne, from my understanding heat capacities are usually given in units of J/mol, but it definitely varies depending on what the question is asking. Hope this helps!
