Chapter 8 Number 75 b

Postby Anh Khoa 3E » Mon Jan 30, 2017 1:20 am

Why is the C-H enthalpy not taken into consideration in the solution manual? Is it because there are 8 H on reactant side and 8 H on the product side?

Hello,

Yes you are correct. You can write the bond enthalpies for both reactants and products, but when you do that, you see that all the C-H bonds cancel out.

Hope that helps :)
