### ∆nRT in Reactions with no ∆n

There are equations where the moles of product is the same as the moles of reactant, so Delta n = 0. If the moles of gas is equal on both sides, does that mean that there is no work being done, since $\Delta n RT = 0$?

Hi! I believe that is true, that no work is being done, because if there is no increase or decrease in the net amount of moles of gas being produced, the volume of the container will not need to change and thus no work is being done.

If there is no change in the number of moles (no delta n), then that means that there is no change in volume (no delta V). Because w = -P(delta)V, if there is no delta V then there is no work done!
