Units of Standard Enthalpies of Formation

I know that the units of standard enthalpies of formation is always kJ/mol. However, for problem 8.63 in the textbook solutions manual, why is the solution only given in kJ and not kJ/mol? Are there certain instances where the answer should only be written with units of kJ? Should we just stick to always writing units of kJ/mol on exams?

My TA writes it as kJ/mole of reaction, but said it doesn't really matter if you use kJ or kJ/mol. I think just make sure to keep track of your units in your work and use that.

Essentially, it doesn't really matter whether it's kj or kj/mol, just use whatever you end up with as you work through the problem.
