Bond Enthalpies

Is there an easier way to calculate bond enthalpies if you are only given the chemical formula without having to draw out the whole lewis structure?

I don't think so unless you know the structures in your head.

You only need to know the types of bonds present and how many of them are so if you can look at the name of the molecule and see how it is bonded in your head, you can use that to calculate the bond enthalpies

Other than pure visualization, there is no shortcut.

It is always best to draw Lewis structures so that you don't get confused or forget some bonds if you're visualizing structures in your head.
