hess law equations

Postby inlovewithchemistry » Tue Feb 12, 2019 1:28 am

On the midterm, will we be expected to know how to write out the equations that we will use to utilize Hess's law? Like in book problem 4D15? If so, can someone explain going about that?

For 4D15, the reason you write out equations is because you are given enthalpy of combustion and I think for the exam we should know how to write out combustion reactions.

I think that if the equations are more difficult than combustion reactions (where it's just reacting with O2), Dr. Lavelle should give us the equation in the midterm.

The equations will most likely be given on the exam.
