Melting and freezing
If enthalpy of fusion is an endothermic reaction, would freezing be an exothermic reaction?

Yes, it is an exothermic process because as a liquid converts to a solid, pressure and heat are being released. Heat has to be removed from the liquid in order for it to become solid.

Yes, freezing would be an exothermic reaction. If you think about it, in order for something to be melted, energy needs to be put into it so energy needs to be taken out of something to be frozen.
A lot of times freezers are warm in the back because that is the energy being taken out. do you like my response

Freezing would be considered exothermic because it is converting particles from a less ordered state to a more ordered state, which would make the value of mass*latent heat of fusion, negative, hence exothermic.
