Bond Enthalpies
Will we have to draw the Lewis structure to calculate the bond enthalpies or they were just used as an example in lecture?

Re: Bond Enthalpies
The Lewis structures were drawn to just give a better idea of the bonds that would be broken and formed in the reaction. However, we won't have to draw the Lewis structures, but they do give a better idea of the structures and bonds of each molecules so that we know the bond enthalpies for each bond.

We won't need to draw them, however it might help to give you a better understanding of what's going on
Re: Bond Enthalpies
Dr.Lavelle won't expect us to draw them but he did say that it is quite helpful so it is one way to work through a problem if you get stuck.

I don't think it's necessary to draw them, but it will probably be helpful; otherwise, the values of the bond enthalpies should be given somewhere.
