What does Hess's law describe?

Hess's Law shows you that enthalpy changes are additive because enthalpy change at each stage can be added to give total enthalpy change.

Hess's law basically states that even though there may be intermediary steps in a reaction. The total enthalpy change is the sum of all changes because enthalpy is a state function

Hess's Law states that enthalpy changes are additive because enthalpy changes are a state function, which must be additive.

Hess's Law states that regardless of the multiple stages or steps of a reaction, the total enthalpy change for the reaction is the sum of all changes (demonstrating that enthalpy is a state function).

Hess's Law describes that because enthalpy is a state function, it must be additive (enthalpy change at each step of a multistep reaction can be added to give TOTAL enthalpy change).

Hess' law states that the change of enthalpy in a chemical reaction is independent of the pathway between the initial and final states (enthalpy is a state function and you can add enthalpies to get the total enthalpy).

Hess's law states that enthalpies can be additive. You can add the total reaction enthalpies.

Hess's Law states that regardless of the intermediate steps taken in a reaction, the total enthalpy change for the reaction is the sum of each individual changes.

When do we use Hess's Law?
