Enthalpy units
When calculating enthalpies, using Hess's Law, do we use the units kj to denote delta H?

Re: Enthalpy units
In the equations that Lavelle did in class when he was showing different methods to find enthalpy he used kJ with Hess's Law.

Re: Enthalpy units
It should be in terms of Joules whether that is J or kJ. It can also be in J/mol or kJ/mol depending on the context.

Re: Enthalpy units
Enthalpy for a reaction would typically be given in joules or kilojoules. For molar enthalpy, standard reaction enthalpy or standard formation enthalpy, it would be given in J/mol or kJ/mol.
