Units for delta H

Why is it that sometimes units for delta H are only kJ and sometimes they are kJ/mol? Is there a specific circumstance when each applies, or is it always kJ/mol and sometimes the mol just isn’t written?

I believe it's usually assumed that people know it's kJ/mol, and the mol is just omitted. I think my TA mentioned that once during discussion, but my memory is fuzzy...

delta H is in kj/mol. if it was just kj, it would be q or just energy.

The unit for Delta H are KJ/mol. If the problem just says KJ, 1 mol is assumed or a predefined mass has already been stated.
