Why are bond enthalpy calculations the least accurate method of finding the enthalpy of a system?

Re: Bond enthalpy calculation
It is the least accurate because bond enthalpy is the average of many bonds. Only diatomic molecules have accurate bond enthalpy measurements.

Re: Bond enthalpy calculation
It is because we do not have all the answers when understanding why molecules decide to determine there bonds. People made charts to understand it, so that might limit its accurateness.

Re: Bond enthalpy calculation
bond enthalpy calculations are the least accurate method because bond enthalpies are based on a combination of bonds for that molecule. Because of that, many bond enthalpies can vary, making it not as accurate as other methods.

Re: Bond enthalpy calculation
bond enthalpies are the average of the bond enthalpies for different reactions, each separate reaction has slightly different bond enthalpies.

Re: Bond enthalpy calculation
The reasoning behind why bond enthalpies are different can vary with the composition and complexity of the molecule/bond. The intramolecular forces within the molecule can determine how closely electrons are held. In addition, bond length is directly related to bond strength. If the bond length is shorter, the bond strength is greater and therefore more energy is required to break the bond.
