Calculate the lowering in molar energy when resonance is allowed between the Kekule structures of benzene.
I am getting 228 kJ by doing 5584 kJ (delta H of the Kekule structure) - 5352 kJ (delta H of the other structure), but the answer is 232 kJ and I can't figure out why my answer is 4 kJ off.

Your answer is correct (more stable by 228 kJ) and so is the detailed answer in the Student Solutions Manual (more stable by 228 kJ).
Make sure to use the detailed step-by-step answers in the Student Solutions Manual.

The brief answers at the end of the textbook have typos.
As I announced many times: Use the detailed solutions in the Student Solutions Manual
