Standard Reaction Enthalpy (Course Reader)

Postby Andrew Than 3J » Mon Jan 11, 2016 11:31 pm

On page 19 of the course reader, there are quotations next to each line underneath Standard Reaction Enthalpy. I am confused as to what should have been written here and what they signify. I keep re-listening to the podcast, but I am unable to comprehend what that spot means.

The quotations are just there to repeat, "Standard state for a...," which is stated right above the quotations ("Standard state for a gas:"). If you filled in the blanks, it would be: "Standard state for a" Sol'n, "Standard state for a" pure liquid or solid," etc.

Are you referring to the " ?
They just mean same as above.

So the whole thing should read:
Standard State for a gas...
Standard State for SOLN...
Standard State for Pure...
Standard State for an element...

Oh, thank you so much! I kept thinking that examples were to be listed in that section for some reason. Sorry for the confusion.
