Bond enthalpies

Where can we find a reliable table for bond enthalpies?

I would say that the bond enthalpies in the textbook would be a good resource. Table 4E.3 has the mean bond enthalpies for many elements

In lecture, Dr.Lavelle showed which bonds break and reform. I was wondering if we need to specifically know which bonds break and reform by drawing the structure out.

In response to the previous comment, you do need to know which bonds in particular form and break, but you do not necessarily need to know how to draw the Lewis Structures. You need to know which bonds form and break so you can assign bond enthalpy values for the broken bonds and newly formed bonds in order to make the final calculation for the enthalpy of the reaction.

Hi, just double checking, the only bond enthalpies we would need are ones from diatomic molecules, right? Like H2 or O2... I remember him mentioning something about them in lecture but can't remember exactly what he said

In response to Luke, the comment Dr. Lavelle made about diatomic molecules was that bond enthalpies are accurate for diatomic molecules because they are measured for them. All other enthalpies are averages.
