Table of Standard Delta H

Postby Shannon Shams Disc 3I » Sun Feb 05, 2023 3:37 pm

Does anyone know how Standard Delta H values are organized in the table of values given in the textbook? It's almost like they're alphabetical but not really. For instance, there are two regions of molecules that start with CH but they're separated by all the molecules starting with Ca.

Hi!

I am not sure to which table exactly you are referring to but here is some information for three of the tables in the book:

- Table 4C.1 is about physical changes such as vaporization and fusion and the values are alphabetically ordered
- Table 4D.1 it's by alphabetical order and the data is given is for combustion reactions
- Table 4D.2 they are organized by organic and inorganic molecules and it is about the formation enthalpies

Anyways the order is not relevant for the problems covered in class.

Have a nice day!
