For number 12, I got the correct numbers, but I was wondering why the C value was positive and how the heat of combustion is negative when the C is positive.

I believe that the value for C is positive because the combustion reaction releases heat, which is absorbed by the calorimeter, while the heat of combustion is negative because heat is released/leaving the system.

I understood the positive C as a specific heat of the calorimeter, and all of the specific heats I've seen so far have been positive.
