Accounting for Temp-Dependent Heat Capacities

Postby laurence14b2f » Sun Mar 17, 2024 11:45 pm

Hello! How do we account for temperature-dependent heat capacities in calorimetry calculations, particularly for systems with nonlinear heat capacity curves? Thank youuuu

I think heat capacities only change when the phase changes (ice and liquid water have different heat capacities for example). So you would account for that by using the q=mcdt equation using the C for that certain phase.
