Which method to pick
When given a question to calculate the change in heat but it does not specify the method, which method should I choose? The one with the most givens?

I would look at what's given in the problem, then use the method that's the easiest/the one you're most comfortable with.

It depends on the information given in the problem. For example, if bond constants are given, then you should use that method to solve the problem.
