Cpm vs Cvm

Postby Madeline Fox 2B » Thu Jan 19, 2017 2:08 pm

Why does molar heat capacity at a constant volume always yield a greater amount of temperature change than molar heat capacity at a constant pressure? Also why does heat capacity increase with complexity of a molecule??

Heat capacity increases with molecular complexity because as more atoms are in the molecule, there are more possible bond variations that can absorb the added energy.
