How would you approach this problem? I don't understand how the first and second reactions described are connected

You're supposed to use the first reaction described in order to find the heat capacity of the calorimeter (divide 3.50 kJ by 7.32 C). Using qsystem= -qsurroundings, you can find the change in internal energy of the neutralization reaction by having the change in internal energy equal to qsystem and the calorimeter equal to qsurroundings. When you plug in the heat capacity of the calorimeter and the change in temperature from the second reaction, you find how much heat has been released from the reaction. Hope this helps!
