Postby Jasmine Botello 2F » Wed Jan 10, 2018 5:40 pm

will we be given tables like 8.3 on tests or are we supposed to memorize specific important values?

I'm pretty sure the problem will give us whatever values we need, since Dr. Lavelle usually doesn't expect us to memorize specific values from tables.

He will provide the information needed, such as the bond enthalpies when calculating delta H.

I think the only thing we will need to know are the standard states for common reactants like hydrogen, oxygen, etc. all other values should be provided.

I agree. I'm pretty sure we'll be given the values, and all we'll need to do is know how to use them or manipulate them if we need to (i.e. divide reaction enthalpy by the number of moles to find enthalpy for formation of one mole of a substance). Hope this helps!

He said in class today that all values will be given!
