Periodic Trend for Heat Capacity

Postby Kate Zeile 2D » Sat Jan 13, 2018 8:21 am

Is there a periodic trend for heat capacity? Does heat capacity relate to size of the atom, the electronegativity of the atom, etc.?

Could it be the same as the trend for atomic radius? since specific heat capacity is related to the size of the atom.

I do not believe that there is a periodic trend for the heat capacity because the elements in the periodic table are solids, liquids, and gases and different states of matter of an element have different heat capacities.
