How do you set up the equation for the heat of a calorimeter like problem 8.21?

For 8.21, we know that the heat lost by the piece of metal is transferred to the water, so the water gains heat. You would set up the equation by setting the heat lost by the copper = - heat gained by water. You would then use the equation q = mass x specific heat capacity x change in temperature for both sides and solve for the final temperature.

our TA also said if the c of the calorimeter is given in the problem you need to add it to q of Cu. Thus, the equation could be q of H2O = q of Cu + q of calorimeter
