Equations for gases using R
I know Prof. Lavelle mentioned in class we didn't need to know the isothermal expansion equation on p. 266, but there are several boxes later on that talk about gases that we haven't learned about in class (all the stuff with PV = nRT, 3/2 RT, etc.). Can we expect to learn this on Friday or is this something we should read ourselves?

Re: Equations for gases using R
I think there are some homework problems that use those equations indirectly in order to derive other values. But I don't think those equations will be tested on directly because they were not touched on in a detailed manner in class.

I believe he mentioned that we did not yet need them, but he might go over them in class on Friday. The equations are listed on the equation sheet, so we will likely have to know them at some point.

I see PV = nRT as fair game, because it was in Chem14A. However, he has not mentioned anything about this yet in 14B.
