Specific Heat (Csp)

Postby sallina_yehdego 2E » Sun Feb 03, 2019 9:20 am

On an exam, when conducting a problem using the equation, q=g*Csp*deltaT, are we supposed to memorize the specific heat (Csp) even if the problem doesn't give it to you, or will it be given?

If you're not given the specific heat capacity you can calculate it by dividing the heat capacity by the grams of the substance you have. Heat capacity is kJ/degrees Celsius.

Otherwise, it is mostly usually given.

It will most likely be given but its safe to know how to approach the question when its not.
