ΔH is the change in enthalpy and ΔU is the change in internal energy. Their relationship is explained by this equation: ΔH = ΔU + PΔV

delta U indicates constant volume while delta H Indicates constant pressure

delta H corresponds to gases more because solids and liquids do not change a significant enough amount in volume.

Delta U is the change in internal energy, while Delta H is the change in enthalpy. The internal energy of a system is the total energy in the system (sum of potential and kinetic energy) while enthalpy is the heat energy that is absorbed or released in a chemical reaction. They’re related in that the change in enthalpy is equal to the internal energy of a system plus the product of the pressure and volume. They’re similar in that they both are related to the energy exchange between a system and its surroundings.
