Specific heat capacity is the heat required to increase the temperature of a substance by 1° per 1 gram of that substance. Dividing the heat capacity by grams of substance would give you the specific heat capacity. Hope this helps.

It is the heat required to change 1 mole of a substance, by 1 Degree Celsius

Adding on, this is a separate term from heat capacity, which is not measured per gram (The heat capacity of 5 grams of water is different than that of 10 grams of water).

The heat capacity is the constant of proportionality between heat supplied to a system and temperature rise that results.
