How do you know when to use R=8.314 vs. R= 0.08206

Based on the units given in the problem, it will determine which value of R to use.

Use 8.314 when your units are J/K*mol and use 8.206 x 10-2 when your units are are L*atm/K*mol.

Does R always equal 8.314 when using Cv=3/2R and Cp=5/2R?
