HW question 4.19 says to calculate the molar kinetic energy of Kr at different temperatures. What is the formula for average kinetic energy ? Should we know this for the midterm?

For an ideal gas, the only type of energy that contributes to its internal energy is the average kinetic energy (since supposedly for an ideal gas there are no interactions between the molecules, so the gas's energy only comes from its motion, KE). The equation for internal energy (avg KE) of an ideal gas is given by U = 3/2nRT. I would say this is useful to know for the exam, but I believe it is given on the equation sheet.
