constant p & v

do any gaseous reactions ever occur at neither constant volume nor constant pressure? (so you wouldn't be able to use delta H = qv or qp)?/ how would you know when this is the case?

In an isothermal reversible compression, volume is decreased while pressure is increased. The opposite is true for an expansion, where volume is increased, and pressure is decreased. Whenever the process is reversible and isothermal, ΔH = 0. In contrast, for an isobaric process, ΔH = qp, and in an isochoric process, ΔH = qv + nRΔT. Hope this helps!
