translational and rotational contribution from molecular motion

Postby JosephineF » Thu Mar 12, 2020 12:03 pm

Will translational and rotational contribution from molecular motion be on the final? I don't ever remember covering it in class but it is in some of the 4C homework problems

also just a reminder that the final is open book so if you don't get a chance to study this you will probably still be fine

The effect of translational and rotational momentum is covered in the chemistry textbook, however it is not of extreme importance. It is mainly used to derive the equations for the energy of ideal monoatomic gasses.
