Ho do we know when something has a thermodynamic property or 'small' error in S versus a statistical or 'large' error in W?

So we have the equation: S = kblnW

If you imagine a ln graph (below), you can see that for particularly large values of x, if you change the x value, the y-value does not change a lot. In other words, you can change the input (in this case, W) by a wide margin, and the value of the output (in this case, S) would still be roughly the same to its true value. Of course, it would probably be different if you're using very small (relative in the sense of this equation) values of W, it's probably different.
